The Boost mobile app lets you quickly buy items using the Scan & Pay feature. Just scan products, add them to your cart, and pay, all from your phone. This guide will show you how to use Scan & Pay for a smooth shopping experience.
Always keep your Boost app updated. New versions often include important bug fixes, performance improvements, and feature updates.
Instructions
1. Open the Boost app on your mobile device.
Make sure you have the latest version of the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
2. Once you're in the app, locate and tap on the Scan & Pay icon located in the lower-right corner of the app’s home screen.
3. You’ll be taken to a Welcome to Scan & Pay page; click the Continue button to proceed.
4. A pop-up will appear asking if you want to grant Boost permission to access your phone’s camera. You will need to Allow to enable scanning.
If you select Don't Allow, the app will redirect you to the home page, and you won’t be able to use the Scan & Pay feature. To use Scan & Pay, you will need to allow Boost to access your camera.
If you accidentally denied camera access, go to your phone’s settings to adjust the permissions for the Boost app. Look for the Boost app under your phone's app permissions and toggle the camera access to "Allow" in order to use the Scan & Pay feature.
5. Hold your phone up to the barcode of the item you wish to purchase and scan it. The app will automatically recognize the barcode and display the item information. Once the item appears on your screen, click Add to Order to add it to your cart.
Ensure that the barcode on the item is clear and unobstructed. If the scan is unsuccessful, try repositioning the barcode within the camera’s viewfinder.
6. After scanning all desired items, tap on the Cart icon to review your selection. Make sure everything looks correct, then proceed to checkout to complete your order.
Troubleshooting
Students using a meal plan must maintain a minimum balance of $20.00 in their account to be eligible for check-in via Scan & Pay. If the account balance is insufficient, an error message will be displayed, and the check-in process will be denied. This policy is implemented to ensure there is adequate funds to cover the purchase.
