How to take screenshots on your phone

This article outlines the steps to capture a screenshot on your iOS or Android device.


iPhone Screenshot 

The iPhone provides several methods for capturing a screenshot, including the use of button combinations, AssistiveTouch, and tap gestures for enhanced convenience. 

Face ID (no home button)

1.  Press the Side button (right side) and Volume Up button (left side) at the same time.

Touch ID Models (with home button)

1.  Press the Side/Top button and the Home button at the same time.

AssistiveTouch (one-handed)

1.  Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and toggle it on.

2.  Select Screenshot within the custom actions (e.g., Single-Tap, Double-Tap) to capture with the virtual button.

Back Tap (alternative)

1.  Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap.

2.  Set either Double Tap or Triple Tap to Screenshot.

 

Android Screenshot

To take a screenshot on most Android phones, simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons. A flash or sound will indicate success, with options to edit or share appearing at the bottom of the screen. Captured images are saved in your photo gallery's Screenshots folder.
